Everybody calls in March. That is the worst month to call, and the reason has nothing to do with weather.
Spring is the queue
Every contractor in Cherokee County is booked from March to June, so lead times stretch and nobody is negotiating. If you call in spring you are building in summer.
Summer works, with a caveat
Heat is fine for building. It is not fine for finishing — stain applied to timber in full afternoon sun flashes off before it penetrates, which is why a summer stain job often looks thin within a year.
Autumn is the quiet answer
September to November: cooler, drier, and the schedule has opened up. Pressure-treated timber also wants a few months to dry before it takes stain, so an autumn build sets up a spring finish perfectly.
Winter is possible
Framing carries on through most Georgia winters. What stops is finishing — most stains want temperatures above fifty degrees for a full day, which rules out a lot of January.
Staining is its own season
Not too hot, not too wet, and the timber genuinely dry. Late spring and early autumn are the windows. Everything else is a compromise.
