Common questions
Should a porch floor be painted or stained?
Stain is usually the better answer for a wood floor that gets sun and rain, because it wears by fading rather than peeling. Painted porch floors look sharp but the next maintenance cycle is a scraping job.
Can rotten column bases be repaired?
Sometimes, depending on how far it has gone and whether the column is load-bearing. We will tell you honestly whether it is a repair or a replacement.
Do you paint porch ceilings?
Yes, and they are worth doing at the same time as everything else — the access is already set up.
