A colour chosen indoors under a shop light is a colour chosen wrong. Georgia sun is harder than anywhere the swatch was printed.
Test on the house, not on a card
Paint a square foot on the actual wall and look at it at three times: morning, midday and evening. A colour that looks warm at nine can look grey at six.
Test on the shaded side as well as the sunlit one. Most houses have both, and the same tin will read differently on each.
What fades fastest
Strong reds and deep blues lose their depth soonest under this much sun. Mid-tone neutrals and greens hold longest, which is why so much of Woodstock is painted in them.
Trim is a bigger decision than the body
The body colour covers more area, but the trim is what the eye reads as the shape of the house. Changing trim from white to a warm off-white does more than changing the siding by a shade.
South and west walls
They take the most sun and fade first, so a house painted all one colour will show a difference between elevations before the coating fails. That is normal, and it is worth knowing before you choose something that shows it badly.
