Remodeling & Painting in Roswell, GA

Roswell spans two centuries of housing — an 1837 historic district at one end and modern construction at the other. The approach differs completely.

Roswell is the widest spread of housing ages we work across, and the right approach at one end of town is the wrong one at the other.

The Roswell Historic District has been on the National Register since 1974. It covers around 120 acres, and some structures in it date back to 1837 — Greek Revival and Late Georgian work, including the houses people know by name around Bulloch Hall and Barrington Hall. Canton Street and the streets off it carry a great deal of period housing.

Away from that core, Roswell is comfortable modern suburban construction, and those homes want the same work as anywhere else in north Fulton and Cherokee: repaints, kitchen work, deck restoration.

For period property the priority is restraint. The value in an old Roswell house is in its original material, and the fastest way to damage that value is to strip out something that could have been repaired. Refinishing original woodwork keeps character that replacement removes permanently.

Period property, in short

Repair original woodwork wherever it is sound

Match existing finishes rather than overriding them

Expect preparation to take longer than the finish work

Historic district exterior changes may need approval — check first

Roswell is the furthest of the areas we cover regularly. For smaller jobs it is worth asking about scheduling when you call.
